Frequently asked questions
Will I receive a beat with no tags after purchasing it?
Yes, all beats will be delivered without voicetags.
What if multiple people buy the same beat?
If multiple people buy the same beat, they can still each copyright their very own song they make with that beat, and sell, distribute, perform and broadcast that song, keeping all their own royalties.
When you buy a beat from Shifty Mind, the copyright for that beat in itself still belongs to Shifty Mind. However, the copyright for the song that you make with that beat, your lyrics combined with that beat, belongs to you. And with the rights granted to you by the Shifty Mind license agreement, you are allowed to sell, distribute, perform and broadcast (TV, radio, Internet) that song, keeping all of the royalties.

What are tracked out audio files?
Tracked out audio files are sub mixes of an instrumental. Often called stems. For instance, an instrumental may consist of multiple stems (drums, bass, guitar, etc.) layered together in separate audio tracks.
Main purpose of stems is the better and more precise fine tuning while mixing a song.
Important note: Tracked out files (stems) are untouched, that is not mixed. The reason is simple = the adjustments can be made to your linking and taste.
I bought a tracked out beat and I received a compressed file. What can I do?
Since we care about space on your hard drive, we compressed these tracks to the space-saving, open .7z format.
If you want to download a program to decompress it, you can find the appropriate version here (select the version of your OS):
Windows - 7zip
Mac OS X - 7zX
Linux - p7zip
Why are the tracked out beats compressed? Does it degrade quality?
Based on our calculation, compressing a tracked out beat can save up to 70% on file size. That means less traffic on our side, faster download on your side.
Compressing files does not degrade quality at all, the 7z format just figures out how to represent the sequences of 1s and 0s more effectively. After decompressing, you will get the original files in full size.
